Adelaide City FC has had a total of thirteen girls selected to join the FFSA State Pathway ahead of the upcoming 2018 season.
The players, aged between 13 and 17, have all demonstrated a high standard of play and shown themselves to be candidates for coaching and development offered by the state system as the growth in female football continues.
With the ongoing succesful ways of Australia’s Matildas (another impressive win yesterday with a 3-0 victory over a strong China team), women’s football continues to grow. Adelaide City FC is proud to support player development and encourage progress to opportunities such as these now offered to young footballers.
“The future for the sport and all footballers in Australia is bright. Both our men’s and women’s national teams are performing admirably, and football has recently been re-affirmed as the number one club participation sport in the nation” said City Football Chairman Tony Costa. “Opportunities for players to improve is what our club is all about. We congratulate these girls being chosen for FFSA programs and wish them all the best in their footballing endeavors. Adelaide City FC will always welcome them back with open arms should the time be right down the track to return to club football again” he added.
The girls will commence with FFSA programs in the new year in Skilleroos and National Training Centre (NTC) squads.
