Adelaide City will host Para Hills Knights this Saturday, as the two sides meet for the second time this season.
Last week Para Hills secured top flight football for another year and this past Tuesday night announced via social media that the club have re-appointed head coach Darrell Avery for the 2019 season.
Avery’s side beat 2nd placed MetroStars last week at home 2-1. Luke Colalancia’s strike just before half-time broke the deadlock, before Metro replied mid-way through the second half. But Shinya Yoshida was able to put his side ahead with 10 minutes left, placing the low cross in the left bottom corner.
City drew 2-2 at home with Adelaide Comets, blowing a 2-0 lead. Evan Kostopoulos scored his 6th goal of the season in the 1st minute of play. Anthony Costa had the chance to make it 2, but poorly hit his penalty, which was saved comfortably by Julian Torresan.
Valentino Yuel scored in the 66th minute to give Mori’s side a bit of breathing room, but Comets were able to score 2 in 6 minutes and walk away with a point.
Last time the two sides met City were victorious with a 1-0 win away from home. It was former City attack and current Olympic player Mamadi Kamara who put City in front, scoring in the 65th minute.
City have had a few adjustments to their squad and will have to tackle Para without the likes of Kamara. Both teams have everything to play for, with Para Hills looking to secure a top 6 spot.
