Adelaide City backed up their opening round win over Campbelltown with a confident 3-0 win over Para Hills Knights in Saturday afternoon’s joust at Adelaide City Park.

The Knights were looking to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat to Adelaide Comets last week, while City continued their perfect start to the year in their first home game of the 2017 PlayStation 4 National Premier League South Australia season.
City displayed a strong start to the game, threatening the Para Hills goal front while coming close to scoring.
For the second consecutive week, City took just 24 minutes to break the deadlock.
Mamadi Kamara went on a trademark run before the winger drove the ball into the 18 yard box.
The subsequent cross found the head of Evan Kostopoulos and with the help of a slight deflection looped over the helpless Para Hills goalkeeper.
It was Kostopoulos’ first goal in the Black and White, in just his second game at City having joined the club from Adelaide Comets this season.
The hosts looked good value for their lead going into the half time break.
The second half got underway, and in the 54th minute coach Damian Mori made his team’s first substitution of the game.
Mamadi Kamara was replaced by 17 year-old Carlo Armiento, and the youngster making his first team NPL debut.
He immediately caused problems for the Para Hills defence, before the game went from bad to worse for the visitors in the 61st minute.
Anthony Costa and Knights defender Matt Mullen competed for a header when they became entangled.
Mullen was adjudged to have brought down Costa, and was given a second booking by the referee, subsequently being sent off.
Ten minutes later, the scorer turned creator as the Black and Whites doubled their lead.
An Evan Kostopoulos run down the right was crossed into the area, beating the Para Hills goalkeeper.
The ball found its way to Anthony Costa, who easily put the ball into the back of the net with a diving header.
It continued Costa’s perfect start to the season; it was his second goal in as many games.
The game was put to bed in the 85th minute, when Armiento again went on a scintillating run down the left flank.
He took on a Para Hills defender, before firing a low, driven cross into the six-yard box.
The cross confused the Knights defence, before Matthew Marchioro turned the ball into his own net, gifting City a third goal.
It was another comprehensive performance by Damian Mori’s outfit; who now set their attention to next Saturday night’s big clash with Adelaide United at The Parks.
