Adelaide City have signed goalkeeper Joe Gauci for the remainder of the 2019 National Premier League SA season.
Gauci joins the club on the back of his scholarship contract with Hyundai A-League club Central Coast Mariners.
The talented 18-year-old has shown that he is one of Adelaide’s brightest talents; he joined the Mariners from then-NPL club West Torrens Birkalla at the age of 17.
The custodian is keen to get underway, highlighting City’s similar environment to that of an A-League club as one of the main reasons he made the switch to black and white.
“Coming from a professional environment at the Mariners, I wanted to come into a club that did things very similarly and City are definitely doing that.
“They’ve always been a top club – they have a huge ambition to become part of a national second division in the future and they always want to be the best they can be.”
Gauci’s acquisition comes at a handy time for City – as they prepare for a big second half of the season.
