Adelaide City FC would like to advise, that after a successful three years at the helm, Alf Ianniello will be stepping down from the position of Football Committee Chairman effective 30 June 2017.
In his own words;
Dear Adelaide City Football Club Community
Over the last three years I believe that as a club we have made significant progress in our vision to become the best NPL club in Australia. Reunification with the women, improved financial stability, a reinvigorated coaching focus with technical directors, an overhauled and expanded organisational structure, partnership with Unley Rangers, improved facilities including commencement of the synthetic pitch construction at Adelaide City Park, and strong on field performance across the board are just some of our achievements.
For me, the period has been significantly rewarding, to see the club I played for as a junior strengthen its position on the national football landscape.
The journey however is yet to be completed. Robust plans and structures are in place to achieve this. The club has started to review its current performance against its strategic plan and will carry its findings into the planning period for the new year which will start in June.
As we move into the second half of 2017 and have an eye on 2018, I believe that a club our size must think about succession, and to ensure we continue what we have started I will be stepping down as Football Chairman on 30 June.
I am very pleased to announce that Tony Costa will take over the role from that date. Tony has been at our club as a player, parent and administrator on and off over the last 20 years. His knowledge of football and our club, and his professional experience as a National Manager of one of Australia’s major brands, sees him well equipped to continue with our current plans. Tony and I have the same passion for Adelaide City FC, and a consistent value set.
I would like to thank everyone at the club for their support over the period. There are so many people who have contributed in many different ways during the past three years and my thanks go out to everyone for their efforts. I would like to personally thank Dino D’Ottavi for his support for the club, much of which goes unseen but is a significant contribution.
I will remain on the Board of Adelaide City FC, and as an advisor to Tony and the current Football Committee on an as required basis and look forward to sup[porting the club as iy continues to move forward.
Football Committee Chairman
