Junior Boys Proud After Cup Finals

City u15's raise the Cup aloft after winning yesterday's final

Junior Boys Proud After Cup Finals

It was a big day for the junior Black and Whites as teams took to the park at Elite Systems Football Centre to contest four of the six Football Federation SA Junior Premier League Cup finals on offer yesterday.

In clear but cool conditions, and with a great contingent of City supporters, all battled out hard fought matches. Three teams, the u12, u13 and u17 collected runners up medals, with the u15’s taking home the winners’ Cup. All players were able to walk off the pitch with their heads held high after commitment and quality football saw all matches closely contested.

Adelaide City FC junior boy’s u15 team secured a third straight Football Federation SA Junior Premier League Cup. The team outplayed West Torrens Birkalla 4-1 to raise the winners’ Cup aloft. This same group of young players have now played in four consecutive Cup finals moving through from the u12, u13, u14 and now u15 knockout competition. More impressive, is they have now won the last three consecutively! Excellently coached by Vincenzo Spatola, who managed a full squad of 16 players magnificently, the team worked together to produce the superior standard of football.

The under 12’s controlled the game but could not capitalise on the score board and with 10 minutes to go Raiders took control to win 2-0. The under 13’s took on a very strong Metro side and battled hard but lost 4-2 in a terrific game. The under 17’s playing the undefeated Para Hills in a David and Goliath battle, took the game right to the last minute but ended up just short losing 2-1.
