Last night’s WNPL Finals match saw Metro United WFC edge out Adelaide City FC 1-0 to progress through to the Grand Final in two weeks time.
In a tight contest, and at times in blinding rain, Metros scored the only goal of the match in the 60th minute while City’s Daniela Di Bartolo saw the back of the net only to be ruled offside.
City will have the opportunity to battle the Red and Black again if they can overcome Fulham United when the two sides play off for the last Grand Final berth next Friday 16th September at 8:15 PM at Elite Systems Football Centre.
Adelaide City finished a frustratingly close runner’s up in the Women’s Premier and State League Cup Final to Fulham United last Friday night and will be eager to turn the tables this time around.
The winner of this match will then advance to the South Australian Championship decider.
