Metro haven’t dropped a game so far this season- City narrowly beaten by current 3rd placed team Fullham United 1-0 in Rnd 2. In the season’s first meeting of the two teams in  the pre-season Charity Cup, Adelaide City women claimed the  first sliver-ware on offer with a 4-0 win, but expect a much organised and prepared opposition this time round.

Coach Edoardo gives us the inside line in the lead up to the big match:

“This week we are up for a big challenge when we take on Metro United at Elite System Football Centre. We will have some changes which will add to the challenge, but we have already faced similar situations and our girls are up for this clash. The changes only add to the excitement, giving us the opportunity not only to measure ourselves with the strongest team (on paper), but demonstrate adaptability and commitment when every single effort will count double.

We want to play to win and to honour our club and our idea of football. When the lights lit up and the girls in Black & White walk onto the ground, it doesn’t matter who is on the other side. What matters is that we bring to life the good work that we do week in week out and that we show who we are as a team and what we can do.

We come from a very positive period, but, like we always say, we are only as good as our next game. And this week we have 90 exciting minutes in front of a good crowd and against an equally strong title contender. We want people to come to watch us and to leave satisfied with what we had to offer. The girls are up for it.”
