Adelaide City’s Daniel Scinto, Victor Kasimatis and Izac Carrozza have completed a successful training and development carnival in Devonport, Tasmania as part of the 2017 Skill Acquisition Program (SAP) Festival.
Conducted by Football Federation Australia (FFA), the event saw select u12 players from Australia convene to advance their football development, and technical abilities. Matches were played over the three day tournament from Friday 3 march to Sunday 5 March inclusive, with teams coming from across Australia including Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory.
The Skill Acquisition Program is a nationwide initiative of Football Federation Australia. A key aspect of the FFA National Curriculum is the implementation of a Skill Acquisition Program to perfect and accelerate the skill development of identified talented players at the critical ages of 9 to 13. These are the age groups universally acknowledged to be the optimal mental and physical phase in which children are able to learn motor skills.
The South Australian contingent was managed by highly credentialed coach, and former NSL and A-League stalwart, Richie Alagich.
