The Gods of Strangers

The Gods of Strangers

Adelaide City are delighted to support The Gods of Strangers, a new play from Elena Carapetis presented by the State Theatre Company of South Australia.

It’s 1947. Two women in Port Pirie greet unexpected guests at their doors. At one: a man looking for shelter, work and to leave his past behind him. At the other: a woman seeking someone she has lost, and something that was stolen from her.

A beautiful and loving tribute to the power, perseverance, humour and resilience of our Greek Cypriot and Italian mothers, this is a new South Australian play that brings our history to the stage for the very first time.

The play will be performed in English with sections of the play in Italian and Greek, with English subtitles.
