Adelaide City made it a resounding clean sweep across all three PS4 National Premier League grades when it traveled to nearby Marden Sports Complex, home of Adelaide Blue Eagles today.
Taking the field at 11:00am, our u18s delivered a comprehensive 11-0 win, although the extent of the goal scoring somewhat surprising. A closer score line prevailed in Reserve Grade with 2-0 result in favour of the Black and Whites, the clean sheet pleasing.
Today’s final match, 1st Grade, kicked off at 3:00pm. An early goal to Nic Bucco gave us the lead but Blue Eagles’ Balsamo found himself in the box and in the 16th minute was able to slot the equalizer. Not until the 79th minute was the deadlock broken, Bucco netting a brace with a clinical penalty. Adding to his already significant goal tally, City’s Anthony Costa put the result beyond doubt on the verge of full time bulging the net in style, sealing the 3-1 score line.
We remain top of the table after today’s round 8 fixtures on 19 points, with Campbelltown and Comets only 3 further back. Rest we have none however, with the return Blue Eagles fixture on Monday, Anzac Day, for Round 2 of the Westfield FFA Cup, at home.
