Adelaide City FC u12 boys have won the final of the 2017 Carnevale Cup 4-0 against MetroStars to finish undefeated in this year’s competition and be crowned 2017 Carnevale Cup champions for the 5th time from seven Carnevale Cup Competitions.
The U12 Carnevale Cup for 2017 was played at the Adelaide Showground Oval over the weekend, with fourteen teams competing including Adelaide Blue Eagles, Adelaide Comets, Adelaide City boys, Adelaide City girls, Campbelltown City, Croydon Kings West, Fulham United boys, Fulham United girls, NE MetroStars 1, NE MetroStars 2, Raiders FC, West Adelaide, Western Strikers and West Torrens Birkalla. Games were played on both Saturday and Sunday.
The Round Robin format provided matches with two 12 minute halves, and 2 minutes allowed to change ends and to make substitutions.
Presentations of trophy and medals took place on Sunday afternoon on the Al Fresco Stage.
Girls were fantastic and gallant in defeat against some of the stronger boys teams, particularly considering this was the first time these girls have played together. A big thank you to Dion and Kelli Krantis for the extraordinary effort with the girls team, an absolutely wonderful job.
