Adelaide City will face Sydney United 58 in the Quarter Final of the PS4 National Premier League Finals. The berth is the reward for finishing top of the table in the regular season and clinching the South Australian Premiership which was secured with a 2-0 win over South Adelaide at Adelaide City Park yesterday with one round to go.
The PS4 National Premier League Finals series will determine the champions of the second division of football in Australia. It is a national knockout competition for the first placed clubs of Australia’s eight PS4 NPL competitions.
The match, to be played in Sydney, will be City’s first time in the relatively new competition, and will be held on Saturday, September 17 2016.
Teams competing will have won through to the final eight by virtue of winning their respective NPL Premiership of each state or zone in Australia.
All six states will be represented by their respective minor premiers, along with ACT and Northern NSW zones, to comprise the final eight teams.
The draw for the quarter finals was conducted by Football Federation Australia on 19 July 2016 in Sydney.
Sydney United 58 secured their place in the finals with two rounds to go as they captured the 2016 PlayStation 4 NSW NPL Men’s Premiership. The team, coached by former Socceroo and Foxsports presenter Mark Rudan, clinched their berth with a one sided 4-1 victory over Bonnyrigg White Eagles last Sunday night.
