Despite Adelaide City’s senior men’s team being knocked out of the 2018 FFA Cup after a penalty shootout loss to Adelaide Comets, the club is still going to be very well represented at Coopers Stadium on Monday the 11th of June.

City’s Under 18 squad will kick off the day’s proceedings as they go toe-to-toe with long-time nemesis MetroStars in the FFSA Federation Cup Final.
This is expected to be a very tight affair; City currently sit fourth in the league and one point ahead of MetroStars.
Meanwhile, the Black and Whites will also be competing in the Reserve Grade Grand Final; they will face last year’s FFSA Federation Cup winners West Torrens Birkalla.
Adelaide City’s Reserve squad sit fifth – and like the under 18s – one point ahead of their opponents.
Reserves midfield maestro James Boffa is relishing the opportunity to be playing at Coopers Stadium and believes that the two matches are very important to the club.
“It is exciting to get to play at Coopers Stadium – it’s been a while since I’ve played there, and it will feel good to walk out onto the biggest football stadium in Adelaide again.”
“The Under 18s have a good chance to get the club’s first piece of silverware for the season and hopefully we can make it a second,” Boffa said.
City started the 2018 campaign slowly, but Jonas Salley’s men have recovered well to put themselves into a healthy position for a finals berth come regular season’s end.
However, this past weekend they were defeated in remarkable fashion by a resilient Birkalla after leading 3-0 at half time.
Boffa, though, insists his side isn’t dwelling on the defeat, and will in fact be extra motivated come Monday, and believes in the team’s younger and less experienced players.
“The loss last week hurt but it is just an extra incentive for us in the Grand Final,” stated Boffa.
“We have a very young team and I am sure they are excited for this opportunity to bring another trophy back to Adelaide City Park.”
“I am confident, but the boys and I will need to be at their very best on Monday.”
The Under 18s Grand Final between Adelaide City and MetroStars kicks off at 9.30am while the Reserves grade will be underway at 12.00pm.
