We are pleased to announce the promotion of young coach Angelo Paul from Assistant to Paul Pezos of the NPL senior team to Head Coach of our WNPL team for the 2022 season.
The Club determined yesterday to not renew Jamie Dunning’s contract going forward. We thank him for his service this year.
Club Chairman, Greg Griffin, had this to say:
“Angelo is the perfect fit in our view for this most important role in the club. Historically, our women’s team has dominated the local league which under the stewardship of Angelo we are hopeful will continue. We wish him the best in this next important step in his career.”
Newly appointed Football Director, Adriano Pellegrino, also expressed his congratulations:
“Angelo has been a huge asset to ACFC over the past 4 years. I appointed Angelo as our U18s boys coach in 2018 and to see him progress to lead our Senior Women and work closely with our junior girls teams is going to be very exciting and a huge reward for all his hard work. I wish him all the best in his transition into the Senior Women’s game.”
On his new role within the club, Angelo commented:
“I am delighted to be given the opportunity to coach Adelaide City women’s senior team for the 2022 WNPL season. The women’s team have set an extremely high standard and I am excited to start working on ensuring we have a successful season. Women’s football is a growing sport and an integral part of ACFC. I would like to thank Greg Griffin and Adriano Pellegrino for having the faith in me to lead this team moving forward.”
