Adelaide City remain in top spot on the PlayStation 4 National Premier League ladder after Round 9 of the competition despite losing to West Torrens Birkalla 3-1 on Saturday at Jack Smith Park.
The significant number of tied results, with draws to Campbelltown, Comets, Croydon, Blue Eagles, Olympic and Metro Stars ensured many of chasers were only able to claw back a point. City remain two points clear on 19, with Campbelltown and Comets just behind on 17.
Birkalla were able to get three goals clear to lead 3-0 before City was able get one back through a superb header from Anthony Costa in the 87th minute to close out the score 3-1.
