Adelaide City will play Adelaide University in Round 2 of the PS4 WNPL at The Parks Football Centre when Football Federation SA host’s a Celebration of Women’s Sport on Wednesday, March 8th.
The match will be City’s opening game of the season following the postponement of the Round 1 fixture against Fulham to an as yet to be determined date.
The Celebration of Women’s Sport will be held on the night of International Women’s Day, and run in conjunction with the Office for Recreation and Sport. FFSA’s two-pitch facility will burst into life with ‘Come and Try’ Activations for a variety of sports, the opportunity to meet leading South Australian female athletes, and two games of the PlayStation 4 Women’s National Premier League Season.
Chair of the SA Women in Sport Taskforce and Assistant Minister to Premier Jay Weatherill, Katrine Hildyard MP, will release the ‘Girls Can, Women Can’ video at the event.
Stella Rigon, Captain of local Clubs, Fulham United and Adelaide United, will be in attendance along with netballer Erin Bell, Captain of the Adelaide Thunderbirds and Sarah Perkins from the Adelaide Crows.
FFSA Chief Executive, Michael Carter, is very pleased to be hosting an event which showcases the Women’s National Premier League.

The Celebration of Women’s Sport begins at 6pm on Wednesday March 8th with Come & Try Activations and a Q&A Session with elite female athletes prior to the 7pm kick-off of the PlayStation 4 Women’s National Premier League.
Adelaide City will play Adelaide University, while Metro United will take on West Adelaide, both matches kicking off simultaneously.
