Adelaide City Women have defeated Cumberland United Women 4-0 at Burton Park Football Centre in Round 5 of the Women’s National Premier League. The match, held last night under rainy conditions, had been moved from the scheduled Friday night due the the A-League finals match to be held the same time at Coopers Stadium.
It proved to be a one sided affair with City’s goal scorers putting four past the opposition with no reply. Twice Daniela DiBartolo put the ball into the back of the net, in the 40th and 80th minutes, while Georgia Campagnale signaled what was to come early in the match, scoring after only 2 minutes, with the fourth goal coming off the boot of Matilda McNamara in the 71st. With four wins and one defeat in the season so far, City sit second on the ladder behind Metro United.
