Cup Final – Coach’s Insight

Adelaide City and Fulham United go head to head for the Women’s Premier & State League Cup tomorrow night at Elite Systems Football Centre. Here’s Coach Edoardo’s insight into the big match!

“Every game is special, but this one is a little more special than others. Playing in the cup final is always a thrill and doing so after eliminating minor premiers Metro United in the semis certainly adds to the mix. Winning the cup is one of our strongest desires this season and we are excited about playing such an important game the year of Adelaide City’s 70th anniversary. We are well aware that it is going to be a hard task on Friday night and that – if we want to have a chance to bring the cup home- we need to produce an outstanding team performance, both tactically and technically. Even more important will be the psychological approach to the game, given that our opponent have a number of very experienced players who played at the highest levels, including W League and the National Team. We are determined to work for one another and to keep our concentration high for 90 (and perhaps more) minutes and we believe that, if we are good at doing that, we have a chance to get some satisfaction. As always, we are all about a strong performance and we are determined to make our supporters proud. I hope that those who can come out and see the match will be impressed with what the team has to offer.” Edoardo
