Adelaide City FC’s dynamic flyer Nikola Mileusnic has signed with current A-League Champions Adelaide United.
The move which was announced today, comes after a stellar season with the Black and Whites and trials at United’s northern training facility. Mileusnic also had the chance to show his wares at the recent match behind closed doors against Melbourne City at CFA Melbourne last Wednesday.
The development is well earnt and a reflection of the stunning season Mileusnic has had with South Australia’s National Premier League Premiers where he has regularly taken out the Marcellina Player of the Week award as voted by opposition coaches. Playing wide on the left or right, his speed, ball control and finishing touch has made him an attacking weapon which has caught the eye of the Reds as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Mileusnic came to Adelaide City FC from White City FC at the start of this season, and has never looked back. He finished the regular season equal second on the goal scoring tally, demonstrating his scoring prowess, an always sought after attribute.
“I am very happy to be given this opportunity and make the move to the top tier of football in Australia” said Mileusnic. “I would like to thank my coach Damian Mori and Adelaide City for their commitment to my development and support in making the move to United” he added.
The move is in keeping with Adelaide City FC’s football development philosophy. Adelaide City FC Coach Damian Mori expressed the club’s response to the transfer; “We are exceptionally pleased for Nikola, this is an exciting development for him, and well earnt. Adelaide City FC aims to develop and support players in their football journey and we couldn’t be happier for him” he said. “We look forward to following his progress and wish him all the best.”
Mileusnic’ transfer to the A-League champions is the second this season after Joshua Mori joined the club’s Youth team just a few weeks ago.
