Tomorrow night see’s our Hisense and Terry White Chemists sponsored WNPL Women’s team play their first away match for the season – Rnd 2 V Fullham United, 8.15pm kick-off Adelaide Shores.
The contest will require the player’s full attention. Coach Edoardo tells us what lies ahead; “We have a difficult game ahead of us, facing a very experienced team which include players who played for Australia and in the W-League. Fullham come from an extremely poor start, but now they had two weeks to prepare the match and this will only make them more determined and difficult for us.
Having said that, our girls are focused and ready to take on this challenge. I want them to build on the positive aspects of our first game and the good work that we did in the last two weeks. We asked them to try to be a little more cynical and to always attack the goal, and, given that it’s early days, we look forward to see where we are at.
It’s a great group to work with, they are all enthusiastic, smart and very skilled. Compared to last year, we are also seeing much more leadership and maturity, which is a key to success. Everyone in the group is very important for us, including those who may play a bit less. Our attitude is that we are only ‘as good as our next game’ and every Friday the girls have the chance to put into practice their hard work and to show everybody what they can do.”
